Faith Against Line 3: A Eucharist in Solidarity with Land Defenders
On Sept. 25, 2022, members of Treaty One Christians for Socialism joined with other faith community members in the parking lot of a TD Bank in Winnipeg for an Anglican Eucharist in solidarity with Anishinaabe Land Defenders and their fight against Enbridge’s Line 3 expansion project. Participants in the action called on TD Bank to divest from the Line 3 pipeline project, and called on the federal government to take real action on climate and land protection, to respect Indigenous territories and decisions, and to put resources into healthy and sustainable communities not dependent on constant growth.This was the third in a series of actions initiated by faith communities in Treaty 1 territory calling for an end to Line 3 and to all future fossil fuel development projects.
The Crisis of Care in Covid-19: India
Treaty One Christians for Socialism cosponsored the event "The Crisis of Care in Covid-19: India," which took place over Zoom on June 10, 2021. The panel discussion considered the crisis of care in India amidst soaring infection numbers within a healthcare system unable to support the number of patients seeking treatment, and asked “How might faith communities, and the Canadian public at large, respond to this growing catastrophe?” Panelists included: Dr. Nitika Pant Pai (Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, McGill University), Dr. Manish Pandey (Associate Vice-President, International, University of Winnipeg), and Dr. Savita Singh, (Professor, School of Gender and Development Studies, Indira Gandhi National Open University).
Break Every Yoke
Treaty One Christians for Socialism cosponsored the webinar "Break Every Yoke: Motion 46, the Church and the Question of Income for All," which took place on March 24, 2022. David Driedger (First Mennonite Church of Winnipeg) moderated a panel with Winnipeg Centre MP Leah Gazan presenting Motion 46 which aims to ensure a livable income for all Canadians. In addition author and organizer John Clarke addressed the need to keep public supports and opportunities at the forefront of working towards a just and dignified society. These important contributions were used to discuss how the church can respond to Isaiah’s prophetic call to break every yoke that causes unnecessary suffering. Presentation to Executive Policy Committee at Winnipeg City Hall

Canadian Churches for Care and Change in the Time of COVID-19
In 2020, members of Treaty One Christians for Socialism released the petition "Canadian Churches for Care and Change in the Time of COVID-19." Amidst the crisis of COVID-19, members called for "comprehensive measures of debt relief, supports for housing, forms of just taxation and wealth redistribution that can allow for stable livable wages and supports."
